Course Overview

The Ocean Road 10k is a 6.2 mile run/walk that starts at Pt. Judith Lighthouse and finishes at Town Beach in Narragansett. Ocean Road’s coastal scenery and smooth surface make for an ideal 10k course that hugs the coast before passing under the famed Narragansett Towers and finishing at the Narragansett Town Beach.

Getting There

Please Arrive Early

Please be sure to afford enough time to park and board your designated shuttle. Parking is available on a first come-first serve basis in the Town Beach parking lots. Additional street parking is available nearby, throughout Narragansett. We advise showing up at least 20-30 minutes before your assigned shuttle wave. There is NO parking available at the race start in Point Judith. Participants are welcome to arrange their own transportation to and from the start/finish.

Additional Course Info

Waved Start

The race starts at 8:00 AM with informal waves starting minutes apart. Runners will be asked to loosely organize by pace time with the fasted runners going off first and slower paces going last. There will be volunteers assisting with the pacing process.

Course Support

Water, Nuun and restrooms will be available at miles 2.0 and 4.0. Medical support will tail the race, and will be offered at the finish line.

Time Limits

We welcome runners and walkers of all speeds. However, volunteers, on course-aid and roads can only be secured and staffed for a set amount of time.

The course will “close” on a continuous pace of 16:00 minutes per mile. Anyone who cannot maintain the 16:00 minute per mile pace must move to the sidewalk as the course closes to allow regular traffic through. Runner services cannot be guaranteed for participants beyond the 16:00 minute per mile pace.

Prohibited on the Course

We do not allow the following on the course: unregistered runners, pets, baby joggers, strollers, any wheeled vehicles other than wheelchairs (In accordance with USATF guidelines, wheelchair athletes must wear helmets).

Traffic and Community Impact

We consider ourselves very fortunate to be able to share the beauty of Narragansett with our runners. Please be respectful of the local community and do your best to only discard any clothing layers and trash at the race start, aid stations and/or mile-markers.

Roads will be managed by the Narragansett Police Department and will largely remain open to traffic throughout the day, but delays and temporary stoppages can be expected from 7:30 AM – 10:00 AM throughout the course.

Good morning runners, it's race day! Our team is busy setting up the course and getting things squared away for the race start at 8 AM! Because of this, we're often not as responsive as usual, so if you have questions regarding your bib number, shuttle time, parking, etc., please visit the website (www.oceanroad10k.com), as all that information lives there!

We look forward to seeing you very soon at the 2026 Ocean Road 10K presented by Newport Hospital!

Bib pickup will resume tomorrow morning at Narragansett Town Beach at 6 AM. If you did not pick up your bib today, we highly recommend you arrive at 6 AM regardless of your assigned shuttle time!

Speaking of shuttles, athletes are welcome to board an earlier shuttle than their assigned wave, just not a later one. Need a reminder of when your shuttle is? Visit our website oceanroad10k.com

We'll see you bright and early tomorrow morning!
